La Démographie Politique du Conflit au Mali

Cette étude examine la relation entre les confits et les tendances démographiques au Mali – notamment la fécondité, la mortalité et la migration. La démographie du Mali est similaire à celle des pays voisins, le Niger, le Burkina Faso et la Guinée, et refète des tendances plus larges à travers l’Afrique subsaharienne : croissance démographique rapide, taux de fécondité élevés, services gouvernementaux médiocres et une augmentation de la population jeune urbaine au chômage. Ces facteurs agrégés peuvent exposer un pays à un plus grand risque de confit, mais, contrairement aux attentes, ils n’offrent pas réellement une explication causale au conflit au Mali.
