In 2017 the Government of Rwanda retained\u00a0the Washington DC law firm of\u00a0Levy Firestone Muse LLP<\/a> to investigate the role of the French government in connection with the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda that left more than 800,000 dead<\/span>. The Muse Investigation report was submitted to the Government of Rwanda on 19 April 2021. It concludes that\u00a0the French government bears “significant responsibility for enabling a foreseeable genocide”.<\/div>\n
