With its lectures, walk, workshop, exhibition and\u00a0readings on migration, \u2018Port city: narratives of migration\u2019 aims\u00a0to dispel this notion.<\/p>\n<h5><a href=\"http:\/\/beinghumanfestival.org\/event\/drinking-tea-to-escape-the-noise-of-the-world\/\" target=\"_blank\">Drinking tea to escape the noise of the world<\/a> | Friday 13 November<\/h5>\n<p>The event starts with a presentation of the \u2018Tea Project\u2019 exhibition exploring aspects of the personal, political and collective histories related to the tea trade and migration. This will be followed by a talk on tea trade and migration by Portsmouth\u2019s own local tea merchant.<\/p>\n<h5><a href=\"http:\/\/beinghumanfestival.org\/event\/portsmouth-sailortown-walk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Portsmouth sailortown walk<\/a> | Saturday 14 November<\/h5>\n<p>This walk will explore the unique culture and representation of three sailortowns of Portsmouth that evolved between the 18th and early 20th centuries.<\/p>\n<h5><a href=\"http:\/\/beinghumanfestival.org\/event\/engaging-with-the-past-migration-memories\/\" target=\"_blank\">Engaging with the past: migration memories<\/a> | Tuesday 17 November<\/h5>\n<p>A special guest lecture by Eithne Nightingale (Queen Mary University London) on her research into \u2018migration museums\u2019 in port towns, followed by a reading and discussion group on the theme of \u2018migration museums\u2019.<\/p>\n<h5><a href=\"http:\/\/beinghumanfestival.org\/event\/reviving-the-crescent-portsmouth-connects-with-asia\/\" target=\"_blank\">Reviving the Crescent: Portsmouth connects with Asia<\/a> | Wednesday 18 November<\/h5>\n<p>Presenting a very different narrative, creative and cultural industries lecturer Tom Sykes will discuss Portsmouth\u2019s role as a global city with close cultural and literary connections to Asia.
