Central African Republic at a critical juncture in peace process: Report

The Central African Republic is at risk of descending into “anarchy”, similar to what took place in 2013-2014 if mistakes of the past are not acknowledged, according to a new report by the International Crisis Group. “Avoiding the worst in the Central African Republic” outlines dealing with multiple peace talks, but also recognizing that solutions affecting even the smallest communities in the country could be key to sustainable peace.

Centrafrique: il faut “s’attaquer aux finances” des groupes armés

Il faut “s’attaquer aux finances” des groupes armés en Centrafrique, qui se battent pour le contrôle des ressources naturelles, estime un rapport du centre d’analyse International Crisis Group (ICG) jeudi alors qu’un regain de violences ravage le pays depuis plusieurs mois.

Le groupe de réflexion estime que la lutte contre “les trafics les plus rémunérateurs” (diamants, or, bétail…) doit être au coeur de la stratégie de sortie de crise.
